Description
Many consider the Fujifilm X-T30 II to be a minor upgrade to the popular Fujifilm X-T30. The X-T30 II has upgraded software and the LCD has more resolution at 1.68M dots vs 1.04M dots on the original model. Other than that, most of the hardware is identical. Fujifilm didn't even bother to update the name on the front of the camera to add a 'II." On the software end, the autofocus is a little faster, 2 film simulation modes were added, and the max continuous 4K video recording was upped to 30 minutes versus 10.
If you don't already have a X-T30, then the X-T30 II is a great entry level camera with its incredible image quality. The physical dial based operation makes main settings easy to change instead having to search through menu screens to adjust the setting you want. It's a compact camera that manages to include a built in flash.
Pair the camera with the free FUJIFILM Camera Remote App on your smartphone or tablet, and you’ll be able to send images from the camera and remotely control the camera's exposure settings and remotely release the shutter.
Available in black or silver colors.
Pros:
- Smaller and lighter than the flagship X-T4 camera, but still maintains many of the same software functions.
- Can record DCI 4K video (4096x2160 pixels)
- Easy to switch to Auto mode with the Auto Lever
Cons:
- Tripod mount is close to the battery/memory card cover which means you may need to remove accessories, like a tripod, in order to switch out the battery/memory card.
- With default settings, it's difficult to switch between still image and movie recording. You'll need to set the drive mode dial to movie or still recording first then start recording.
- Q button is often easily pressed in error.
- Only compatible with up to UHS-I SDXC memory cards versus UHS-II
