Description

The Canon EOS M6 Mark II is a compact mirrorless design useful for everyday photography and videography. With a 32.5 Megapixel count, it has one of the highest specs in the range of compact mirrorless cameras.

The EOS M6 Mark II has some interesting features for movie recording. You can create time-lapse or miniature effect movies in camera. The camera features an auto level to help you keep movies straight and level as you record. Paired with the EOS Webcam Utility, the EOS M6 Mark II can be used as a webcam/streaming.

Similar cameras to consider: Nikon Z50, Fujifilm X-T30 II, Sony a6400.

Pros:

  • Features the option to take extract images from movie files
  • Can do in camera RAW processing
  • Relatively small size that's good for portability and travel.
  • Autofocus performs well

Cons:

  • Need to purchase the optional electronic viewfinder, which also takes up the hot shoe so you can't add anything additional to the hot shoe.
  • Native EF-M lens choices are limited, but the camera can use EF/EF-S with an adapter.
  • Live streaming performance can be spotty and requires extra software.
  • Due to the flip up screen design, you can't see the screen in selfie mode when something (like an external mic) is attached to the hot shoe.
